Empowering Pacific Women Leaders | Women in Sport Aotearoa & Pasifika SiS

EMPOWERING EMERGING FEMALE SPORT LEADERS OF THE PACIFIC WITH MENTORSHIP AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE.

Investing in the Future of Wahine in Sports and Recreation

Nurturing Mentorships and Cultural Exchange.

Our Pacific Women’s Sports Leadership programme is an opportunity for emerging female leaders from four Pacific Island nations to gain mentorship and engage in cultural exchange.  Women in Sport Aotearoa Ngā Wāhine Hākinakina o Aotearoa and Pasifika SiS Sisters in Sport have joined together to deliver this program with backing and support from the US State Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  This programme is dedicated to empowering women in sports organisations.

Inspirational Participants

We are proud to welcome 10 inspirational participants from Fiji, Samoa, Cook Islands, and Tonga. The participants are engaged in a sports or recreation organisation in one of the four Pacific nations, demonstrating a passion for furthering the development of girls and women, contributing to system change and positive outcomes. Each participant will be mentored by a host organisation in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, for two weeks, immersing themselves in their work culture and programs.

Sharing Experiences

At the end of the three weeks, participants will meet with Women in Sport Aotearoa Ngā Wāhine Hākinakina o Aotearoa and Pasifika SiS Sisters in Sport to share their experiences and action plans. We hope the programme will inspire participants to learn from the best practices of the host organisations and exchange ideas with each other on how to create meaningful impact in their home countries. Together, we can shape the future of women in sports and create a lasting legacy.
