Nicky van den Bos
Acting Chief Executive
Nicky joined Women in Sport Aotearoa in August 2020 as our experienced events and operations lead, most recently leading the overall logistical delivery of the IWG World Conference, and all other WISPA programmes. Her 10 years’ experience spans both New Zealand and the United Kingdom in a range of National Sports and Commercial Organisations. Most recently, she led the events department at New Zealand Cricket, responsible for planning and executing live international men’s and women’s cricket matches across the country.
During the IWG Secretariat period 2018-22, Nicky led all planning and preparations for hosting the 8th IWG World Conference on Women & Sport in Auckland, New Zealand, for both our physical and virtual audiences. In addition, she led other key programmes, such as the Brighton plus Helsinki 2014 Declaration.
Nicky accepted the role of Acting Chief Executive in November 2022 following the successful delivery of the IWG World Conference.

Peta Forrest
Marketing & Communications Manager
Peta joined the WISPA team from Sky Television, where she worked as the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager for 3+ years, leading the overall communications and engagement programme for 1,100 employees. She led several campaigns and events for staff, including the communications programme for the COVID response team.
As WISPA’s Marketing & Communications Manager, Peta leads the national marketing and communications programme that supports WISPA strategic plans. She is also responsible for building the profile of and engagement with WISPA through its key events and activities such as the Women + Girls Summit and the Captains Lunch.
During the IWG Secretariat period 2018-22, Peta delivered on the IWG’s strategic plans and the marketing and communications programme for the IWG World Conference.

Shanee Kiriau
Community & Digital Delivery Manager
Shanee first joined the WISPA team in July 2020 on a 600-hour placement through AUT University, a pre-requisite to finish her Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Sport and Recreation double degree. She impressed WISPA and its key strategic partners to such an extent, that she was offered part-time employment from the end of her internship through to the end of her degree, before moving into the newly created position of Digital & Community Coordinator, starting 1 March 2021.
Shanee was promoted to Community & Delivery Manager in early 2022. She led the delivery of two significant projects that included the launch of the IWG and WISPA Insight Hubs. Both Hubs launched with partnerships and insights already loaded. The sites now provide valuable insights and resources to a global and national audience.
In her full-time role, Shanee coordinates all aspects of WISPA’s digital activity and is putting systems in place to support a very active online and offline community all around Aotearoa New Zealand.
During the IWG Secretariat period 2018-22, Shanee delivered on the IWG’s strategic plans and the virtual delivery for the IWG World Conference.
