Nicky Van Den Bos

Nicky van den Bos
Chief Executive Officer

Nicky joined Women in Sport Aotearoa in August 2020 as our experienced events and operations lead, most recently leading the overall logistical delivery of the IWG World Conference, and all other WISPA programmes. Her 10 years’ experience spans both New Zealand and the United Kingdom in a range of National Sports and Commercial Organisations. Most recently, she led the events department at New Zealand Cricket, responsible for planning and executing live international men’s and women’s cricket matches across the country.

During the IWG Secretariat period 2018-22, Nicky led all planning and preparations for hosting the 8th IWG World Conference on Women & Sport in Auckland, New Zealand, for both our physical and virtual audiences. In addition, she led other key programmes, such as the Brighton plus Helsinki 2014 Declaration.

With over a decade in the Sport and non-profit sector, Merran Brockie-David brings a wealth of experience to her role as the Programme Manager. Her background includes pivotal roles at prominent organisations like Rally New Zealand, Sport Northland, Auckland Cricket, and Surf Life Saving Northern Region.

This background has equipped her with strong skills in sports event planning and execution. In her role at WISPA, Merran effectively directs programmes and events, ensuring quality and precision.

Sarah Sinclair
Advocacy & Communications (Part-time)

A seasoned marketing communications professional, Sarah Sinclair has been appointed in the role of Advocacy and Communications for WISPA in a part-time capacity.  With a postgraduate diploma in Health Science (Nutrition & Physical Exercise) and a Bachelor of Business in Marketing, Sarah brings a unique blend of expertise to her role. Her passion for sports and gender equality is evident, having owned an independent gym and held certifications as a Les Mills Personal Trainer and worked as a running coach in her spare time combined with her extensive commercial acumen. Sarah’s dedication to empowering women and girls through sports aligns seamlessly with WISPA’s vision.
