Insight Bites
Today, we are excited to have talked with Michelle Wood, Performance Services Manager from Snow Sports NZ. She talks about her family, the direction of her role leading up to the upcoming Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games and Winter Olympic Games, impacts of COVID-19, role models and emerging female athletes.
Despite COVID-19, and the barriers faced, Michelle also gives insight to the High Performance Sport New Zealand Women in High Performance Sport Residency programme she is a part of and the supportive environment that enhances further professional development for women in leadership. She helps spread the awareness around career pathways for future generations aspiring to develop a career in Snow Sports NZ, and leaves a little advice for those wanting to follow in her footsteps: “grab the opportunities when they arise, it will work out…jump into it”
In these quick bite-sized conversations, moderated by our Secretary General Rachel Froggatt, we will connect with leaders from all over the sector in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally, to find out what they are seeing, how they are managing and what they are learning during rebuild and recovery from this unprecedented situation.
