New Zealand 


The Shift Foundation

Shift is an initiative to improve the wellbeing of young women aged 12 – 20 years in the Wellington region, by increasing awareness, reducing barriers, and empowering young women. 


Hera – Everyday Goddess

A project that celebrates girls as girls through being physically active, based in the Auckland region. It’s about knowing that what drives them to be physically active is unique to them. It’s also got tips and tools for parents, teachers and coaches; all designed to get girls engaged in physical activity.


This is Me – Sport Waikato

This is ME is an initiative in the Waikato to encourage, support and celebrate girls and women of all ages getting out there and active, whatever way they choose!

Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS)

CAAWS is dedicated to creating an equitable and inclusive Canadian sport and physical activity system that empowers girls and women – as active participants and leaders – within and through sport.


Women in Sport (UK) 

Women in Sport exists so that every woman and girl in the UK can experience the transformational lifelong rewards of sport.


Women’s Sport Foundation (USA)

Founded in 1974 by tennis legend, Billie Jean King, the Women’s Sports Foundation is dedicated to creating leaders by ensuring all girls access to sports.


WomenSport International

WSI was formed to meet the challenge of ensuring that sport and physical activity receive the attention and priority they deserve in the lives of girls and women and to meet the need for an international umbrella organization that can bring about positive change for girls and women in these important areas of their lives.


University of Minnesota Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport

The first of its kind in the world, the Tucker Center is an interdisciplinary research center leading a pioneering effort to examine how sport and physical activity affect the lives of girls and women, their families, and communities.
