‘She Moves, She Leads, We Win’ Conference

In late 2017, Women in Sport Aotearoa and our friends at the Shift Foundation, along with Wellington City Council, Sport New Zealand, Sport Wellington and the New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA), partnered together to deliver the successful ‘She Moves, She Leads, We Win’ Conference in Wellington.

This conference was based on the belief that women and girls require planned and sustained opportunities and support to achieve their full potential in sport.

The one-day forum highlighted the power of sport and recreation as a way to engage and empower women and girls and to create ways in which they can equally participate, compete and build careers in this arena. In particular, it looked carefully at the range of systemic changes needed to make this a reality.
